L/O: To research codes & conventions of similar products

Codes & Conventions - Aspects/elements that similar products have in common.

5 Reasons why your Business Logo should be perfect - Truelancer Blog 5 Brand Examples of What Makes an Effective Logo Design?
All of these logo's use either letters, circles or squares in them, and tend to use colours like: Blue, red, green, orange, white and black. On top of these's colours the logos tend to be simple or just the company name. Each logo doesn't tend to use more than 4 colours in-order to keep the design simplistic. The key aspects to making an effective logo are: Simple logo (to make the logo memorable), brights colours (to stand out and make the logo noticeable) and no more than 4 colours (to keep the logo noticeable but not too detailed to the point that it is hard to remember/recognise.)

Social media ecological campaign:
#TeamTrees
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Trees
https://teamtrees.org/
The team trees idea started may of 2019 when the Youtuber Mr Beast hit 20 million subscribers and some one suggested he started a campaign to plant 20 million trees as a way to celebrate, and that is just what he did. With the help of the whole social media community's the campaign aimed to raise a $1 for a tree and the gaol being 20 million and the $20million was reached with help from lots of content creators/influencers on social media.

The Logo for the campaign is:

A clearly liked campaign between social media platforms requires an effective and recognisable logo to differentiate the brand from potential others of a similar nature as well as a convincing campaign that people will be happy and enthusiastic to follow and be a part of. A campaign will also need to have a good slogan as well to add to the campaign and to make it more memorable. The ideology that they present to the audience is that with every $1 that is donated a tree will be planted which will help the environment as well as helping the future generations with carbon dioxide pollution because the trees will help in the effort to reduce the amount of Co2 in the earths atmosphere. The other encouragement to people to donate is that they will be a part of the campaign and have your name and amount of trees you donated to be kept on the official website for the campaign to show the organisers gratitude and to idolise all the people who were generous enough to donate. The logo consists of the main focus, trees and has a green and black colour scheme green because it is seen as an environmental colour and is the main colour of trees leaves and black because it contrasts quite well with the green and is a simple base colour and doesn't take attention away from the environmental green. The typography used is also unique because the slogan/campaign name is a short one word hashtag which is very common in the social media community as well as being easily recognisable, then the first word is the same font, size and colour as the hashtag while the second and more important word 'TREES' is in a bold font and this is to make it stand out from the rest of the logo and hashtag. The audience participation is to donate and that every $1 donation will equate to one tree planted towards the campaign, and if people do donate they will be idolised on the official website to show and thank their participation in the campaign. The target audience is the wide social media community as well as the environmental community and it is a campaign to bring each of the two communities together but it also stretches to the whole world its self because the cause is world wide and everyone needs to do their part and is bringing everyones attention to the problem that is at hand as well as giving people an easy way to help by donating money instead of going out side and actually partaking in the campaign which people may not have the time or professional ability to help physically.

Statement of intent
L/O: To produce a concise and clear statement

The next few paragraphs are is my statement of intent that I have submitted as what i am hoping to complete for my coursework:

The brief is to create a social media campaign that attempts to create and awareness towards ecological problems and encourages people to join in with their campaign. My campaign is to get rid of disposable masks because of the plastic pollution that they cause, and my company is named, Masks That Last and my target socially and economically conscious 14-18 year olds. I plan to appeal to them by getting them to make/design their own re-useable masks and then share them on social media to show their participation and their unique designs.
The main codes and conventions were to reduce waste, encouraging the public to join in and to tag others in. I plan on getting people to stop using disposable masks and create their own re-usable mask(s) and to share their designs and tag friends to do the same. From my research, I noted that other campaigns used bright enticing and environmental colours as well as negative photos and positive to show what their campaign can do, the campaigns also had a catchy/easy idea or tagline/hashtag which makes it memorable and encouraging to join.
I plan to use stereotyping of campaigns by using before and after photos to show the change of reducing the use of disposable masks and how much of a positive it can be, this should appeal to my target audience because it would show the positives of making the change as well as allowing them to know that they are a part of making that change and would make them feel good for helping the environment.

I plan to engage my target audience by getting them to design their own re-usable mask as well as to share it with the internet and to tag friends to do the same thing hopefully causing a knock-on effect.

ALL THE WAY
L/O: To start and finish the Instagram post and check the text/writing associated with that post.

31st: Finish 2 Social media posts, start on the video for Youtube

However, Small change of attack plan for today, to:
Create Instagram post, then add My Logo to all social media posts now that it has been completed. (The final design above.

I have now added my recently made logo to all of my social medias templates. I have also created the Instagram post and I have made it straight on the Instagram post to save time trying to re-size it and make sure it fits into the space I left for the post to go. I like how the Instagram post looks because it is simple but very effective and I very much like it and feel it can get a high grade when it comes to be marked.

This is my updated check list table, next lesson after easter I am going to make a start on the video element of my coursework, this will move both no's into the Partially coulomb. Then once finished that will move the last 4 stragglers into the Yes coulomb and therefore my coursework will be completed and I will be in a position ready to submit my work. 1. Excellent research, well done.
I love your ideas - especially #masksthatlast. For the engagement though, you need to consider how you'll get the audience to engage with the posts; will they share, recreate, tag people etc??

  2. Ben your templates are looking great! You have used the tutorials to great effect. From here I would now consider a third platform and aim to introduce your own images / videos.

  3. This looks fab Ben! Great ideas - I would suggest that you try to make the mask in the photoshoot look more used (as if it had been worn and then chucked). Also, have you planned your video yet? How are you going to get your audience to engage with the campaign??
