L/O: to create a media text showing awareness of representation and stereotypes.
Write down the STEREOTYPES used in the following film posters.
Captain America
Age: 30's
Gender: Male and female
Sexuality: Male and Female
Ethnicity: American, White ...?
Disability: ---
Stereotype: The male hero is put in the front and we can see al of his body because the poster is at a low angle so we see more of him, two men have guns to show violence, while the girl doesn't and is looking good with nothing and she is much smaller than the others. Power of america is show by the flag and the main men with guns.
Tangled
Age: 20's
Gender: Male and female
Sexuality: Male and Female
Ethnicity: White ...?
Disability: ---
Stereotype: The girl is just standing there looking pretty in a pink dress, while the man is at the back doing the manual work and is portrayed as the hero
Matrix
Age: 20 - 40
Gender: Male and female
Sexuality: Male and female
Ethnicity: White ...?
Disability: ---
Stereotype: The men are holding guns and in a fighting stance and look action(ey) while the main character is wearing all black and his full body is show, while she is holding a gun to be an anti-stereotype but is show to not be part of the team or is different because she is separated from the rest, who are men.

This is the useless film poster i have created. It has not turned out how i would have liked because i spent the whole lesson trying to make a good poster but i am not capable, so kept changing it about 3 times. I have presented the male gender represented as the hero as the only character on the screen is the hero and main character, and as psycho because of the explosion in the/ as the background, while he has no emotion on his face. This poster sticks with stereotyping, because it has a stereotypical male hero who is psycho, because women are never portrayed as psycho. It has no Stars and directors names because i didn't have time to add these because of me constantly changing my ideas all lesson, this is the same for the release date and tagline. This movie is targeted at boys who like action films.
